Estonia welcomes China's investment in Tallinn port 2007-12-06 10:48:32 Source:Xinhua Author: BBS Estonia welcomes China to make investment in the construction of its Tallinn Port, said Juhan Parts, former prime minister of Estonia, in an exclusive interview with Xinhua Tuesday. Estonia is very interested in the proposal by authorities of China's Ningbo Port to invest in Tallinn Port project, and views them as reliable partners, Parts said, who is currently minister of economy and communications of Estonia. He expressed the hope that the investment will enhance Tallinn Port's handling capacity and transport ability. Estonia's government will provide practical supports to the cooperation between the ports and logistic enterprises of the two countries so that both sides can turn their resolve for cooperation into reality at an early date, Parts said. Parts visited Ningbo and several other coastal cities in China in late October to discuss with Chinese officials about cooperation on port construction. Officials from Ningbo Port are scheduled to pay a return visit to Estonia next January to discuss with their Tallinn counterparts details of further cooperation, said Parts.
